SERVICE AND CRAFTSMANSHIP THE WAY IT ONCE WAS!
To insure that the rug you have chosen gets "started out in life" in a favorable fashion, consider
the following suggestions that will enhance your buying and ownership experieince:
|
|
-
If your rug is showing any folds or creases from storage
or transportation, know that these will, with time, disappear or "absorb" into the floor piece with normal walking traffic
and use.
-
Every hand woven, woolen Oriental rug has a "light" side
and a "dark" side. This has to do with the way that each piece is woven on its loom as well as the lanolin content in the
wool. Position your rug in such a way that the most pleasant side, from your point of view, is placed to take advantage of
the light sources and in consideration of the angles that the rug will be viewed.
-
Wherever possible, the careful use of coasters under
furnishings will spread the weight out and make less of an impression on the pile of the rug.
-
Karimi Oriental Rugs offers several
different under-paddings for your rugs. These are effective in not only keeping the rugs where you want them--preventing them
from moving about from foot traffic--but the padding also allows your treasure to breathe which extends the life of the rug
as well as making the piece more comfortable upon which to walk and stand.
-
A word about abrash: abrash is the slight variations
that are inevitable (particularly in large pieces) that come about when hand woven pieces have been produced, using variable
natural dyes and different lots of wool. Abrash will rarely distract from the rugs spectacular beauty and often gives each
piece a unique patina lending to the value of the carpet.
